India opener Abhishek Sharma shared an emotional message on Instagram after his disappointing performance in the T20 series against Zimbabwe. The left-handed batsman admitted that he was disappointed with his performance but promised to learn from the experience and come back stronger for Team India.
Shreyas Iyer led India to a 35-run win in the third and final T20I at the Harare Sports Club on Sunday, July 26. After a disappointing tour of the UK, the Men in Blue completed a 3–0 series sweep. The opening batsman struggled with the bat throughout the tour and could only score 11 runs in three innings.

After the series, Abhishek Sharma shared a picture of himself leaving the field with a helmet in his hand on Instagram. The opening batsman admitted disappointment over his poor performance with the bat but thanked the fans for their continued support.

India won the series 3-0 due to the brilliant performance of Vaibhav Suryavanshi.
In the third T20 match, Team India batted first after captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss. Abhishek Sharma was out early again, but 15-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi carried the innings forward with a brilliant 81 off 49 balls with the help of four fours and four sixes.
The Men in Blue scored 192/5 in 20 overs before restricting Zimbabwe to 157/7. Ryan Burl scored unbeaten 54 runs for the host team. Mayank Yadav was the best bowler in India’s bowling attack with 3 wickets for 24 runs.
Vaibhav was named both Player of the Match and Player of the Series for his excellent performance throughout the tour. Shreyas Iyer also achieved his first T20I series whitewash as India captain.

Blessing Muzarabani enjoyed an impressive series against Abhishek Sharma. The Zimbabwe pace bowler dismissed the left-handed opening batsman in all three matches, including conceding just two runs in the final T20I.
Abhishek has scored 191 runs in his last 10 T20 innings since the Ireland tour, which also includes a half-century during this period. He also finished the Zimbabwe series with three single-digit scores. Earlier, he had scored 141 runs at an average of 17.62 in eight matches during the 2026 T20 World Cup.
