Ryan ten Doeschate has rejoined Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) within 24 hours of stepping down as assistant coach of the Indian men’s team.
The former Netherlands national cricket team player is set to play a bigger role than his previous stint with Kolkata Knight Riders. Doeschate previously served as the fielding coach of KKR from 2022 to 2024 and this time he has been appointed head of cricket strategy at Knight Riders Sports.

This means they have to take care of Kolkata Knight Riders and other teams owned by franchises in other leagues around the world.

He will oversee cricket strategy, talent acquisition and development at KKR and the rest of the Knight Riders franchise.

Media reports suggest that, in his second stint with the Knight Riders, the former cricketer will join Overseeing cricket strategy, talent identification, player recruitment, team planning and performance evaluation in Knight Riders operations.
Confirming the appointment, Knight Riders Sports CEO Venky Mysore said that Ryan ten Doeschate, with all his experience in franchise cricket and international cricket, will play a key role in the development of the franchise’s worldwide ecosystem.

His deep understanding of our philosophy, coupled with his experience in franchise and international cricket, makes him ideally suited for this role. He will help shape the next phase of growth in the Knight Riders ecosystem.”
Apart from this, Ryan ten Doeschate will have to serve as the assistant coach of Trinbago Knight Riders (Caribbean Premier League), Abu Dhabi Knight Riders (ILT20) and Los Angeles Knight Riders (Major League Cricket).
Doeschate himself is excited about his new job with the Knight Riders. He is happy as he has got the opportunity to work closely with the coaching and analytics teams in various franchise leagues.
