He pointed out that having a lot of left-handed batsmen in the top seven helps the opposition bowlers get into rhythm and make it easier to execute their plans. He also supported the vice-captain Tilak Verma Batting at number six suggested India should go with five specialist bowlers and rely on their top seven batsmen to score most of the runs.
“I think the middle order should be Sanju Samson, Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer, the order can be any depending on the game situation, that’s something I would like to see. When six out of seven batsmen are left-handers it becomes quite difficult, the dimensions of the field come into play and the bowlers get used to bowling the same way. So, I think India definitely need to look at that.” Parthiv said on Star Sports.
