Convenor of selectors David Mutendra said the selectors wanted to put together a core group after Zimbabwe’s impressive World Cup campaign.

He said:

“The T20 World Cup showed what this group is capable of, so continuity was a key consideration for us. We wanted to keep the core members of the team that reached the Super Eights together, while also making room for players who have earned their opportunities. This series gives the team another opportunity to grow as we continue to prepare for the major international tournaments ahead.”
