BCCI organizes a special talent search camp to discover new fast bowlers
Earlier this month, it was reported that the BCCI had invited a batch of selected fast bowlers from states for a special camp at the Center of Excellence (COE) in Bengaluru. Zaheer Khan was appointed to mentor the young fast bowlers under the guidance of VVS Laxman, the COE’s head of cricket.
“Look, I mean, there are two aspects to it. One, I was requested to spend some time with the target bowlers that the BCCI currently has in the roster. So I made my time useful in that way, you know, just helping them, guiding them, understanding how they are looking at it, where I can play a role in sharing my experiences,” the former fast bowler said about his role at the special camp in Bengaluru.
Zaheer Khan hopes to see good young fast bowlers in the future
The 47-year-old assured that there is enough talent in the country to nurture, guide and mentor. With modern infrastructure, this project will welcome more opportunities in the coming days.
‘When you look at the potential of bowlers coming through at the All India level, I think, you know, we are in a very good position. I think there is enough talent in our country which can be nurtured, mentored, mentored and so, you would have seen that the infrastructure is also there to a large extent. It is just about creating more opportunities,” stressed an optimistic Zaheer Khan.
Will Team India be able to find the next Jasprit Bumrah?
Jasprit Bumrah, the spearhead of workload management of the Indian fast bowling bowling line-up, is often monitored by the board. Mohammed Shami has also been out of the team for a long time. To strengthen the bowling department, BCCI needs to find new talent who can represent the Men in Blue in the future.

“I think more and more people coming into the administrative side of things that understand the workload, who have probably played the game, you know, are just going to enhance and maybe fast-track the process of creating these opportunities.”
“Creating platforms like that that will give opportunities to a lot of people that you can look at and then set processes in place that is going to really enhance and facilitate their journey to becoming top, top cricketers.”
Zaheer Khan further added, “I think we are sitting right with it. You know, when you are looking at the talent pool, it is a matter of timing and following the right processes, and you will see some good results.”
