Yuvraj’s father exposed Abhishek Sharma’s undisciplined lifestyle!

Former Indian cricketer and Yuvraj Singh’s father Yograj Singh criticized Abhishek Sharma, accusing him of indiscipline after winning the T20 World Cup 2026. The 68-year-old claims that instead of focusing on practice, the batsman has been reeling since the team became T20 World Cup 2026 winners.

Most of the cricket fans and experts believed that Abhishek Sharma would perform brilliantly in the major tournaments. Going a step further, some even predicted that the batsman could also become the highest run-scorer. The reality is something else. The opener flopped in parts of the tournament.

Why did Abhishek Sharma fail to impress in T20 World Cup 2026? Yograj Singh explained

Abhishek Sharma started his T20 World Cup 2026 campaign with a hat-trick of ducks. Overall, the batsman scored only 141 runs in eight matches at an average of 17.62. In the final, the left-handed batsman scored a half-century against New Zealand.

The former cricketer said that Abhishek Sharma failed because he was not focused on his work. Yograj said that instead of maintaining a balanced lifestyle, the 25-year-old keeps working on the reels.

Yograj said on InsideSport, “You fail because your mind is somewhere else. Abhishek, what is happening with Shubman Gill? Failure comes only when your mind goes somewhere else. That is what is happening with Abhishek. The guy goes around making reels, that is not his job. He should go to sleep at 9 pm, wake up at 5 am and play a thousand balls.”

Parties, girls, money, shooting all the time: Yograj Singh

Yuvraj Singh is Abhishek’s mentor, who helped the budding batsman develop his batting skills. Yograj believes that Sharma will need another age to get closer to his son.

The legend further said, “It will take him another age to get close to Yuvraj Singh. The whole universe runs on discipline. This is how cricketers should work. Where are cricketers going wrong? Parties, girls, money, shooting all the time.”

The former cricketer is also disappointed with Sharma’s batting style.

In the interview, Singh clearly mentioned that he is very disappointed with Sharma’s batting approach. Yograj criticized Sharma as he often keeps hitting the bowlers.

Yograj Singh said, “I am very disappointed with him (Abhishek Sharma). Many times I send him a message – don’t take this game lightly. He will always say ‘Yes, sir’. There is a thing called single, double and boundary. You cannot hit the ball in the air every time. You cannot entertain the audience by hitting sixes. You will fail.”

The Indian team management, under the leadership of head coach Gautam Gambhir, supported Sharma a lot during the bad phase. Despite continuous flop shows, the management never chose to drop him from the team. The batsman repaid the trust by scoring a half-century in the final in order to win.
