In a significant development for Indian cricket, Yograj Singh has directed the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to expand the coaching staff by giving a role to legendary all-rounder Yuvraj Singh.

Yograj Singh told the renowned Ravish Bisht, “When you have a man like Yuvraj Singh, why don’t you take him? It is for your benefit; he has nothing to lose. The cricket fraternity of the whole world is taking him to Abu Dhabi. He is going here and there and working. He was born in this country; he has played for the country by beating cancer for you. If you are not taking his services, then it is your loss.” Is.”

Recently, Australian youngster Xerxes Wadia revealed that he grew up idolizing Yuvraj Singh and later became a fan of Virat Kohli and Travis Head. The young batsman is now making headlines with Adelaide Strikers in BBL 2025-26. He impressed everyone by scoring 24 runs in a single over with a powerful attack on Brisbane Heat’s Jack Wildermuth.

Wadia said on The Surge podcast by BBL: “Growing up, it was Yuvraj Singh. He also went through a very tough phase in his life with cancer and made a remarkable comeback. He was my main hero. After him, obviously, as an Indian, Virat Kohli – especially the way he has dominated white-ball cricket, especially the one-day format. And looking at Travis Head here, it’s mainly his mentality.”
