Arjun Tendulkar is one of those names that has always been on the radar, as his father is the great Sachin Tendulkar. Sachin is called the God of Cricket for his excellence and service for the India national cricket team for 24 years. However, Arjun is not yet closest to his father’s legacy.

Arjun has often been compared to his father and he is burdened by the comparison. Before the IPL, he was traded from Mumbai Indians (MI) to Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). In a YouTube show, former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) spinner Ravichandran Ashwin gave his verdict on whether Arjun Tendulkar will play for LSG in IPL 2026.

Arjun Tendulkar will not play – R Ashwin

Ashwin said, “Arjun Tendulkar will not play at all, and we should not even go there. I think it is very difficult because this lineup has Mayank Yadav, Mohsin Khan, Avesh Khan and Mohammed Shami. There are a lot of fast bowlers. How will he play? I don’t think he makes a case unless there are a lot of injuries.”

Responding to Ashwin’s YouTube comments, Yuvraj Singh’s father Yograj Singh has attacked the former CSK spinner.

“He is talking rubbish, this guy, R Ashwin, whoever he is. He should know what to talk about somebody. Someone is sitting on television and talking, ‘Oh, he can’t do this, he can’t do that’. Who are you? What are you?”

You are wrongly focusing on Arjun Tendulkar – Yograj Singh

“He is Sachin Tendulkar’s son, it’s a different story. When he was here, I told Yuvi that you all are focusing wrongly on Arjun Tendulkar. He is not a bowler, he had spinal problems and his arms come below 45 degrees. When he was here, I was talking to him. I also told his coach when he was with the Goa team.”

Arjun has been struggling with form in recent times; He represented Goa in the 2025–26 domestic season. The bowling all-rounder scored only 58 runs and took one wicket in the 2025-26 Vijay Hazare Trophy. In his last competitive appearance in the Ranji Trophy, he scored 65 runs in four innings and took four wickets.

Send him to me – Yograj Singh

Yograj Singh, after accusing all of Arjun’s coaches of not getting the best out of him and misunderstanding the all-rounder, challenged everyone that if Arjun trained with him for a few months, he would make him the best batsman in the world.

He said, “If you can’t do that then send him to me, I challenge the whole world that if Arjun Tendulkar spends six months with me, he will surpass all the batsmen in this world. If not, I will cut off my beard and throw it away.”

Arjun has played five IPL matches so far, in which he has taken three wickets at an average of 38.00 and an economy rate of 9.37. He would like to improve under the guidance of Zaheer Khan in IPL 2026.
