India’s lower order under investigation during England series
India’s lower order faced investigation during the England series. During the third test at Lord’s, blue colored people collapsed in the run chase. Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Siraj tried to provide resistance with Ravindra Jadeja, but the visitors failed to cross the finish line.
The issues also appeared in the first series. In the first Test in Leeds, India faced two batting, in which their opportunities were reduced. The team management was forced to change the lineup and back batting depth to avoid similar failures.
Akash Deep, who came as a nightwatchman, shocked the opposition by scoring 66 in the second innings of the series at the Oval. Their knock shifted the speed back to India’s favor, and when the team needed it most, distributed the lower order.
If Arshdeep was there, India could win 5-0 – Yogaj Singh
Yogaj Singh said that India missed the opportunity to win the 2025 Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy in England. He said that if Arshadeep Singh had been included in the playing XI, the series could have ended in the whiteness 5-0.
“Even in England, we could win 5–0 if we were in Arshdeep Squad. We could win the series 3-2, did we not lose by 21 runs at Lord’s. They (Tail-enders) could not win it, they could not achieve it, because we never gave them a chance with the bat.”
Arshdeep received his first call-up for India’s Red-Ball Squad, but never got a chance to debut. He was initially released out of XI and later ignored from injury. India started a series with an attack at the characteristic speed of Jasprit Bumrah, Prasad Krishna and Mohammad Sirj.
Akash Deep was included in Xi when Bumrah was rested for workload management. Anshul Kamboj was brought as late replacement through tour and proceeded to make his debut in the fourth Test in Old Trafford.
Jasprit Bumrah will now be seen in action in the Asia Cup 2025.
