Indian opening batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal failed to perform well with the bat during the ongoing one-off Test against Afghanistan. The left-handed batsman was out after scoring just 24 runs in 32 balls off the bowling of fast bowler Mohammad Salim Safi at the Maharaja Yadvendra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, New Chandigarh.
On the first day (Saturday, June 6), India captain Shubman Gill won the toss and decided to bat first. Openers Jaiswal and KL Rahul made a steady start and added 41 runs for the first wicket during the opening session. The pair batted cautiously and focused on building partnerships against Afghanistan’s disciplined bowling attack.
Yashasvi Jaiswal out after 41-run opening partnership with KL Rahul
The pitch had low bounce and some movement, making it difficult to bat during the opening hour. Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul added 41 runs for the first wicket, although both the batsmen survived early chances.
Jaiswal was given a life on 11 while Rahul survived on 16 when Afghanistan decided not to review a caught-back appeal despite getting the edge to the wicketkeeper. However, Mohammad Salim Safi gave success to Afghanistan in the 12th over.
The fast bowler bowled a length ball down the leg side at 139.2 kmph and Jaiswal got a slight edge while attempting the flick. Wicketkeeper Afsar Zazai completed the catch and was given out by umpire Richard Illingworth. Jaiswal was out after scoring 24 runs in 32 balls with the help of five fours, while Safi celebrated his first Test wicket.

The greatest player of all formats when he doesn’t play
Bloods fail in every format as soon as they are asked to bat
Safest cricketer, Yashasvi Jaiswal pic.twitter.com/0LkDqVlJ23

I had already said that the more Yashasvi Jaiswal prepares to play white ball cricket, the more he will spoil his form in Test cricket.

Generational fraud Yashasvi Jaiswal is the perfect example of a player with huge PR and zero talent. Crazy how much PR it has that despite being a complete failure for the last 1 year, this fraud is barely getting criticized. Unreal PR by Walking Wicket Bhainswal pic.twitter.com/7T1zVfmTsJ

That’s exactly how the season has been for Jaiswal, a stranglehold on the leg side and just like that Jaiswal got out after the start.#INDvAFG
