India’s OD captain Rohit Sharma allegedly assured opener Yashasvi Jaiswal not to go to Goa for the upcoming domestic season. Mumbai Cricket Association President Ajinkya Naik said that Rohit urged Jaywal to be loyal to the team, which gave him a platform to show his talent and build his career.
Earlier this year, during the IPL, Jaiswal requested an objection certificate from the MCA after receiving a captaincy proposal from Goa. However, Jaiswal later reversed his decision and asked the MCA to withdraw the NOC, confirmed his intention to continue representing Mumbai in the 2025–26 season.

Yashasvi Jaiswal started his first class for Mumbai in 2019. The 23 -year -old has scored 4,233 runs in 43 first -class matches at an impressive average of 56.44, including 15 centuries and 15 fifty. He recorded 113, 122, 203 and an unbeaten 60 during the 2019 Vijay Hazare Trophy.
Jaiswal played a full season for the first time in the 2021-22 Ranji Trophy, where he scored in three consecutive centuries to help Mumbai reach the finals. His domestic success paved the way for the tenure of the IPL with Rajasthan Royals (RR) and a call-up for the national side.
He last represented Mumbai in the late 2024-25 Ranaji season, after the BCCI instructions that preferred domestic cricket. However, he managed only 4 and 26 in the five -wicket defeat in the Elite Group A match against Jammu and Kashmir.
