Yashasvi Jaiswal lit up the Arun Jaitley Stadium as India took complete control on the opening day of the ongoing second and final Test against West Indies. Yashasvi Jaiswal brought up his seventh Test century in just 145 balls, showing why he is one of the brightest stars of the modern era.
After lunch, the young Indian opener came on the field with confidence and immediately took charge. He hit three clear fours on Jaden Seals in the very first over of the session. His timing, calmness and smart shot selection impressed everyone.

Well, this century was more than just another number for Jaiswal. At just 23, the left-handed batsman has already scored five 150s in Test cricket; Only the great Don Bradman (8) has made more such scores before turning 24. He has now become only the second player to achieve this feat.

Additionally, Sachin Tendulkar, Graeme Smith and Javed Miandad also scored four 150s in their Test careers before turning 24. Jaiswal has also become the second Indian to score seven or more centuries before the age of 24. Sachin Tendulkar has the most centuries (11) at this age.
Other Indian greats like Ravi Shastri and Dilip Vengsarkar had scored five centuries each by the age of 23, which shows how impressive Jaiswal’s achievement in Test cricket is.

Meanwhile, Yashasvi Jaiswal also became the fastest Indian opening batsman to reach seven centuries before turning 24, achieving it in just 47 innings. Graeme Smith, who also scored seven centuries at a young age, took 50 innings to reach the figure. Len Hutton (5) and Alastair Cook (5) are also included in this list.
Looking at world cricket, Jaiswal is now part of the elite group of players who scored seven or more Test centuries before the age of 24. Only Don Bradman (12), Sachin Tendulkar (11) and Gary Sobers (9) had more centuries by this age.

Additionally, the young Indian opener joins the list of Alastair Cook, Javed Miandad, Graeme Smith and Kane Williamson, all of whom scored seven centuries before turning 24. During his innings, Jaiswal achieved another major feat, crossing 3,000 international runs in just 50 matches.

At just 23, Yashasvi became the fourth Indian left-handed opening batsman to reach the milestone, joining the elite company of Sourav Ganguly, Gautam Gambhir and Shikhar Dhawan. This achievement highlights not only his talent but also his consistency and ability to perform at the highest level from an early age.
Jaiswal also created history in the World Test Championship (WTC) by defeating Usman Khawaja and Dimuth Karunaratne. The Mumbai batsman became the second player to score most centuries in the WTC after Rohit Sharma, who has nine WTC centuries to his name.
This fearless batsman is now heading towards his first double century in Test cricket. He is currently batting against West Indies in the ongoing second Test in Delhi, scoring 173 runs on 249 balls. This young player hit 22 fours during his record breaking innings.
