Yashasvi Jaiswal unhappy with Rajasthan Royals management?: Preparations for Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 have started. Despite there being just over a month left for the 2026 T20 World Cup to begin and India’s toughest T20 league, the IPL, some teams have already set up their camps for the competition.

Rajasthan Royals, the champions of the inaugural edition of the competition, have not started their preparations yet. Star India batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal, who has been a part of the Royals since 2020, has showcased his talent for the franchise over the past few years.

Yashasvi Jaiswal has been ignored by RR

The Royals, who let go of their regular skipper Sanju Samson in place of veteran Chennai Super Kings (CSK) all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, had no captain in the squad. In a recent development, from ESPNcricinfo, it has been revealed that all-rounder Riyan Parag will lead the team in the upcoming edition of the Rich Cash League.

This decision is a shocking insult to Jadeja and Jaiswal. RR will announce its captain on Friday. It is believed that Yashasvi Jaiswal may not be in the running. Yashasvi Jaiswal, who has been with the team for almost six seasons, will be disappointed at not being named captain.

Yashasvi Jaiswal ready to leave RR?

Former opener Aakash Chopra has shared his views while replying to a fan that Jaiswal may also leave RR if his demands are not met. The time for Royals to announce their captain has been set at 4 pm Indian time. A fan said, “YJ won’t last long at RR…write it down,” Aakash Chopra replied, “Very likely…if his dreams are not aligning with the team’s vision.”

Earlier, Akash had said, “RR will announce their new captain today. Parag is likely to be the captain. He was ready to be the next leader in the franchise. So, it makes sense.”

“But I’m wondering… has Jaiswal sought a leadership role? Because I think he should have. He has every right to feel that he has been left behind in the race with Gill because of his lack of captaincy ability. His performances across all formats have been second to none.”

“He was part of India’s World Cup-winning team… but when the turn came, Gill was given priority and made the VC. IPL is the place where you can show the world whether leadership sits well with you or not. Let’s find out at 4 pm.”

Jaiswal does not have leadership experience

Gill and Jaiswal are being considered as the upcoming superstars for India. However, the latter has often been in Gill’s shadow, especially in terms of leadership. Yashasvi Jaiswal was ready to leave Mumbai to captain Goa; However, he did not do so. Despite initial reports and his initial request for a transfer, he stayed on to play for Mumbai.

Despite his strong performance, Yashasvi Jaiswal is not a part of India’s T20 team. He has been used as a backup opener for the Men in Blue in the ODI format. However, he is a regular starter in the Test team and has been brilliant in the traditional format of the game.
