This inning belonged to Nat Sciver-Brunt, who played a brilliant inning of 100 unbeaten runs in 57 balls with the help of 16 fours and one six. His composure under pressure and ability to hit boundaries at will ensured Mumbai kept the pace going in the middle and death overs.

Captain Harmanpreet Kaur scored a quick 20 runs adding excitement at the crucial stage.

Despite disciplined spells from Lauren Bell and Nadine de Klerk, Mumbai’s depth shone as they closed at 199 for 4, a challenging target on the Vadodara surface.

In reply, Royal Challengers Bangalore got off to a positive start with Grace Harris scoring a quickfire 15 runs. However, early wickets halted the momentum, including the dismissals of captain Smriti Mandhana, Georgia Woll and Gautami Naik, leaving RCB struggling to build partnerships.

Richa Ghosh counter-attacked in the middle order and scored 90 runs in 50 balls with the help of 10 fours and 6 sixes. He received support from Nadine de Klerk and Arundhati Reddy, rekindling hopes of an unlikely chase for some time.

Despite Ghosh’s late surge, MI bowlers remained composed in the final overs. Shabnim Ismail set the tone early on, while Mathews and Amelia Kerr took important wickets.

RCB eventually finished at 184 for 9Despite a valiant effort from the lower middle order, they missed by 15 runs.
