Late cameos from Nicola Carey and Sajeevan Sajna ensured that Mumbai Indians put in a strong performance, scoring 78 runs in the last six overs. Despite a good spell from Nandini Sharma, Delhi Capitals bowlers struggled to contain Mumbai’s experienced middle-order and conceded runs at a fast pace throughout the innings.

However, the required rate continued to increase as wickets fell at the other end. The contributions of Nikki Prasad and Sneh Rana in the middle order were unable to sustain the momentum and the Capitals were eventually bowled out for 145 runs, which was well short of the target.

The bowling attack of Mumbai Indians put in a brilliant and controlled performance. Taking advantage of the pressure created by the early successes, Carey and Kerr took three wickets each. Shabnim Ismail set the tone with a poor opening spell, while Sciver-Brunt capped a memorable night by taking two crucial wickets.
Fast fielding and consistent bowling ensured that Delhi Capitals never built a sustained partnership, underscoring MI’s dominance in all departments.
