Deepti Sharma credited India’s performance in the first ODI, cited dew as a game-changing factor
The Mulanpur Cricket Stadium watched its first international match, and Deepti Sharma was questioned whether India had faced any problem in fielding under the lights. To which he responded to Quirkily, saying that he was a promising fielding unit.
“No, there was no such problem. We have fielded well as a unit in the last few series. A strange day can be when a team makes mistakes. We do not focus much on it.”
“Whatever has happened in the first match, we have taken some positivity from things in which we have done well. We will take it forward in another ODI. The batting participation that we had and small things that we did well in the first ODIs, we will take it forward,” Deepti indicated positivity from India’s performance.
When Deepti was questioned whether the dew that came during the night banned Indian spinners from giving their best, he said:
“Was dew, but we cannot say that (dew was a big factor). Sometimes, as a bowler, it happens that you want to do well, put in your best attempt, but it does not work in that way. The idea is to learn from it and do good next time.
Deepti said, “I don’t focus much on whether I have got a wicket at that time or not. My thought process is about taking a wicket. I hope we can see his wickets (taking wickets) in the rest of the matches.”
