India’s national cricket team got a big success when leading fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah dismissed England national cricket team captain Harry Brook for just 1 run in the opening match of the three-match ODI series at Edgbaston on Tuesday (July 14).

After the wickets of Ben Duckett and Jacob Bethel in the 13th over, Indian captain Shubman Gill handed the ball to Bumrah and as expected, he led the touring team to a big success in the first ODI at Edgbaston on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma playfully kicked Dinesh Karthik during the Edgbaston reunion with Virat Kohli.

Jasprit Bumrah’s magic surprises Harry Brook in the first IND vs ENG ODI

Jasprit Bumrah bowled a cutter which came towards Harry Brook and bounced a little higher than expected. The dangerous England captain tried to defend the ball with the loose bat but failed to control the shot. The ball hit the upper part of Brook’s bat instead of the middle.

As a result, the ball flew towards the slip cordon, where senior opener Rohit Sharma was stationed, and he took a simple catch to return Brook to the dugout after scoring just 1 run off three balls in the ongoing first ODI at Edgbaston.

Double happiness for Jasprit Bumrah

This was the first wicket of the star pacer who returned to ODI cricket after more than two years. This wicket brings a special milestone for Bumrah as the senior fast bowler completed his 150th wicket in One Day International (ODI) cricket.

Apart from this, Jasprit Bumrah registered his name in the record books by becoming the highest wicket-taker for India in ODIs on English soil. Bumrah leads the list with 31 wickets, followed by Ravindra Jadeja (30), Bhuvneshwar Kumar (28), Madan Lal (27) and Mohammed Shami (26).
