Virat Kohli is currently suffering from hamstring injury

Currently, Kohli is out of action due to a hamstring injury he sustained during the IPL 2026 season final against Gujarat Titans. With another masterclass from Virat, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) defeated Gujarat Titans in the summit clash and successfully defended the title. RCB’s top-order batsman won the title for the second consecutive season by playing a match-deciding innings in the final.

After the conclusion of the Indian Premier League 2026, the batsman was scheduled to face Afghanistan in the 3-match ODI series but due to a hamstring injury, he was completely ruled out of the series.

If reports are to be believed, it may take several weeks for him to regain his match fitness. A few days ago, the Delhi-born player was seen undergoing a fitness test at the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI)’s Center for Excellence.

Team India is scheduled to face England for a white-ball series, including the ODI competition, where Kohli may make a comeback after recovering from injury. However, his participation is dependent on his fitness. At present, there is no official update on the fitness of the batsman.

On a different note, the batsman was recently asked if he would like to reconsider his Test retirement. In response, the former India captain mentioned that he was tired of Tests and would not reconsider retirement.
