Before the start of the new season, Ajinkya Rahane has shared a post on his LinkedIn account. The veteran batsman said that mental focus is as important as physical training.
Ajinkya Rahane said, “With the IPL around the corner, it’s time to start shifting gears. Preparation for a tournament like this starts much before the first game. There’s physical work – time in the gym, sessions in the nets, preparing the body for the demands of a long season. But for me, the most important preparation starts with the mind.”

Kolkata Knight Riders entering IPL 2026 with new setup
Kolkata Knight Riders is entering IPL 2026 with a new look. Abhishek Nair has taken over as head coach, bringing his tactical knowledge to the dressing room for the new season.
The great Andre Russell will return to the franchise in a new role. Following his retirement from the league, he will serve as the team’s power coach during the tournament to help the batsmen improve their hitting abilities.
KKR has formed a new team this season by releasing players like Andre Russell, Venkatesh Iyer, Quinton de Kock and Moeen Ali. Entering the mega auction with a big buck, they secured Cameron Green for ₹25.20 crore.
The team will play its first match against Mumbai Indians on March 29 at the Wankhede Stadium. After that overseas match, they will play their remaining matches at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. KKR will play only four matches in the first half of the scheduled tournament.
