Will Rajasthan Royals be banned? BCCI Secretary reveals plan to punish Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s team

Rajasthan Royals are now in danger after some worrying activities of their support staff and players, as BCCI has now warned them of taking some strict action against the former IPL 2008 champions.

Rajasthan Royals have been performing brilliantly with the bat and recently ended Punjab Kings’ winning streak for the first time this season. However, they are struggling with a lack of discipline among their players as well as their support staff.

Recently a controversy erupted when, during the same match between PBKS and RR, Royals captain Riyan Parag was caught by the broadcast cameras, which quickly went viral, and was widely criticized on social media and then by the authorities as well.

Riyan Parag has already faced ban from BCCI

After Riyan Parag was caught vaping in the dressing room along with his fellow cricketers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Dhruv Jurel, the BCCI took appropriate action against him, which was announced on Thursday, a day after the incident.

The star cricketer was not required to admit to the findings because it was caught on camera, and since it was a Level 1 offence, it required no trial. After looking at the evidence, Parag was found guilty of breaching the code of conduct as per the IPL guidelines. Parag was fined 25% of his match fee and given one demerit point for a Level 1 breach of the IPL Code of Conduct.

However, the BCCI report claims that they are not happy with the behavior of the RR players and support staff in recent times, and hence need to explore new options to ensure ‘the reputation of the IPL remains intact’.

Devjit Saikia warns Rajasthan Royals of strict action

In the official statement of BCCI, they have clearly stated that they will explore more options to initiate more stringent action proceedings against the team which is severely lacking discipline.

This was confirmed by BCCI secretary Devjit Saikia, who told PTI, “As clearly written in the statement, we are exploring what action to take on the team. It has not been decided yet.”

This is the second major action taken against Rajasthan Royals after their manager Romi Bhinder was seen using his mobile phone in the dugout and was reprimanded by the BCCI, who was also fined Rs 1 lakh.

Rajasthan Royals have made a great start in their quest for a second IPL title

Rajasthan Royals have made a great start in this season of the competition. After winning their first four matches in this season of the competition, the Riyan Parag-led side have made a great start to their campaign, especially with the two young openers leading the charge.

After three defeats in the season, the Royals won two more matches, their last win being against Punjab Kings, the table toppers who have dominated this season of the IPL with great form and an undefeated streak.
