Gujarat Titans (GT) have received a huge boost ahead of the IPL 2026 final against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) as star fast bowler Mohammed Siraj is fit and available for the summit clash at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
There were concerns over Siraj’s fitness after he suffered an injury during Gujarat Titans’ Qualifier 2 match against Rajasthan Royals in New Chandigarh on May 29. This left GT fans worried, as Siraj has been one of their key players this season.
When Mohammed Siraj gave injury scare to Gujarat Titans
Mohammed Siraj got injured during the powerplay when he got hit on his right shoulder while bowling the second ball of the fifth over. The fast bowler was immediately seen in discomfort and was attended to by the team physio several times during the Qualifier 2 match.

At one time it seemed that Siraj would not be able to continue further. He even went out of the field for some time for treatment. However, the Indian fast bowler showed great determination and returned to complete both his bowling spell and fielding duties for Gujarat Titans.

Meanwhile, the latest fitness update has now ended all doubts, with Mohammed Siraj available for selection ahead of the title clash against RCB in Ahmedabad on Sunday. A well-known TOI journalist revealed that “Mohammad Siraj is fit and available” for the IPL 2026 final.
His presence is a big relief for Gujarat Titans as he has been one of their biggest match-winners throughout IPL 2026. Siraj has formed one of the most dangerous new ball bowling partnerships in the tournament with Kagiso Rabada.
Siraj’s dominance in IPL 2026
The 31-year-old fast bowler has enjoyed a dream season with the ball. Siraj has taken 18 wickets in 16 matches at an excellent economy rate of 7.53. Of those 18 wickets, the fiery fast bowler has taken 13 wickets in the powerplay, which is the third highest number of powerplay wickets this season.

Apart from taking wickets, Siraj has also created pressure with his remarkable control. He has bowled 162 dot balls this season, which is the second most by any bowler in IPL 2026, behind only his teammate Kagiso Rabada, who had bowled 165 dot balls out of a total of 346 balls.
Ravichandran Ashwin points to only one obstacle standing between RCB and IPL glory
Meanwhile, former Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin believes that Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) are clear favorites to win the IPL 2026 final against Gujarat Titans. He said that RCB are in a strong position to lift the trophy unless they make mistakes themselves.
Ashwin said on Jio Hotstar, “The fact that GT are playing on their home ground and they have dominated there and made it a fortress is something that will really give them extra incentive going into the final. For RCB, it doesn’t matter whether they bat or bowl first; losing is their final. They are going in as favourites. Whatever they do, they should not step back or be less aggressive than they have been all season. Shouldn’t play cricket.”
He further added, “GT’s home ground and his familiarity with those conditions is the only last piece of the puzzle standing between RCB and another title.”
