Former KKR spinner Harbhajan Singh The opinion is that Australian all-rounder Cameron Green is not a suitable part of the playing eleven of Kolkata Knight Riders, as he is currently unable to bowl and is playing as a specialist batsman.

Kolkata Knight Riders had no idea that they would have to consider keeping one of their highest-bid cricketers on the bench. Last season, when Venkatesh Iyer was bought at a huge price, he failed to perform in the season. On the other hand, the same has been repeated for the Australian all-rounder this season.

As a specialist batsman, Cameron Green has managed to score just 20 runs in the last two IPL matches. However, this resulted in an unfortunate dismissal in the second game against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

“I think Cameron Green doesn’t fit into this team” – Harbhajan Singh

Great spinner Harbhajan Singh gave this opinion cameron green He does not fit into the Kolkata Knight Riders lineup until he is fit enough and starts performing well with the ball. These comments came after the defeat against SRH at Eden Gardens.

“I think Cameron Green does not fit into this team, and the simple reason is that he is not bowling. The team should bring in Tim Seifert and make him open the innings, because if Cameron Green is not going to bowl, there are better options available as a batsman. That option is Seifert. Then there is Rovman Powell, who can also be played,” Harbhajan said while speaking on his YouTube channel.

He felt that if Green had to play as a specialist batsman, there were better options in the KKR team who could function solely as a batsman. The realization that he can contribute more to the batting line-up came after the 65-run defeat.

Harbhajan Singh suggests ideal replacement for KKR all-rounder

Speaking further in the same video, Harbhajan Singh also said this KKR Must be feeling pressure after two consecutive defeats. Suggesting some changes in the batting department, he suggested picking players like Tim Seifert or Rovman Powell to strengthen their batting at the top or lower order.

“Now suddenly, the KKR team must be feeling the pressure as they have lost their first two matches, one at home and one away. If they want to bounce back from here, they need to get a few things right. First of all, they have been given a tough fight in both the matches, first by Mumbai and now by SRH at home.

He said, “So what needs to be done? Their bowling needs some improvement. Also, as I am saying, in place of Green, perhaps the team should play Tim Seifert or Rovman Powell, who can give a little more power and score big runs at the top. Even if Powell is played in the lower order, he bats well.”

Will KKR choose Rachin Ravindra to strengthen their batting?

Kolkata has mostly supported its experienced campaigner, Sunil Narine. However, just like Andre Russell bid goodbye to the IPL ahead of the 2026 season, the time has finally come for franchise legend Sunil Narine to bid goodbye to his IPL career.

However, Narine has not been performing well with the bat since last season and went wicketless in the last game at the Eden Gardens. KKR will next take the field against Punjab Kings at Eden Gardens only.

KKR has New Zealand all-rounder Rachin Ravindra, who can strengthen the Knight Riders’ top order and also bring in another useful spin bowling option. Ravindra was one of the highest wicket taker bowlers recently ICC T20 World Cup 2026.
