Rajasthan Royals (RR) will celebrate Pink Promise Day on May 9 when they face Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. Through the ongoing Indian Premier League, the franchise has taken a unique initiative to support women. In this match, Rajasthan Royals will take the field wearing a full pink jersey.
It is reported that, in the upcoming Rajasthan Royals vs Gujarat Titans match in Jaipur, every six taken in the match between GT vs RR will help in lighting six houses with solar energy as part of the women leadership transformation in Rajasthan. RR would like to retain their top 4 position by winning this game.

What is the objective of Rajasthan Royals’ #PinkPromise initiative?
In the IPL 2024 season, when RR was up against Royal Challengers Bangalore, Sanju Samson and Co. appeared in a specially designed jersey dedicated to women supported by the Royal Rajasthan Foundation. Continuing this initiative, the franchise will follow the same path this year as well.
Through an official press release, the franchise explained its approach through promises made as part of a long-term process. In short, the franchise is trying to help women who are struggling in their daily lives to meet their basic needs.
Official clarification by the franchise
“To ensure continuation of its impressive on-ground initiatives, Royals will donate ₹100 towards women-led rural change in Rajasthan on every RR vs RCB ticket purchased for this match. Additionally, all the proceeds from the sale of each pink jersey of Royals will go to its social equity arm – Royal Rajasthan Foundation,” RR said through an official release on its official website.

“Also, for every 6 hits in the match by both the teams, Rajasthan Royals and Royal Rajasthan Foundation are committed to solar power 6 houses in the Sambhar area. A total of 13 sixes were hit in both the innings in the match, which means that the Foundation’s women engineers have contributed to solar powering 78 houses in Sambhar.”
RR’s specially designed pink jersey has a hidden meaning!
The team’s all-pink jersey also reflects the franchise’s initiative. Through the prints on the jersey, RR has tried to highlight: a solar panel (to provide clean energy to rural women), the Bandhani pattern (representing the popular and ancient art of tie-dyeing, also used in traditional Rajasthani women’s attire), and each name embossed on the jersey tells the story of women-led change in rural Rajasthan supported by the Royal Rajasthan Foundation.
At present, Rajasthan Royals are placed fourth in the points table with 12 points from 10 matches, while Gujarat Titans are now positioned as the fifth team in the ten-team league with 12 points from 10 matches. Due to better net run rate, Rajasthan is currently ahead of Gujarat in the IPL 2026 points table.
