Ravindra Jadeja has been left out of the Rajasthan Royals (RR) playing combination for the match against Delhi Capitals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
At the time of the toss, RR captain Riyan Parag informed about the important change. In place of the experienced spin bowling all-rounder, the Royals team management has selected Ravi Singh in their playing combination.
Why is Ravindra Jadeja not playing against Delhi Capitals?
Parag informed that Ravindra Jadeja is not playing tonight’s game due to workload management issue.
“We have had a few injuries here and there. I also had to go out, so that didn’t help. But as far as today is concerned, there is only one change. Because of workload management and all that, Jaddu is out and Ravi Singh has come in for us,” the RR skipper said.
“HReady to lose the toss. We have seen some ups and downs in the last few matches. I think we didn’t defend well. But today we have another opportunity to do that and to do it medically. So we have another extra seamer, and then we can hopefully defend it. Almost there (on finding the best team),” he also mentioned.
Who is Ravi Singh?
Ravindra Jadeja’s replacement Ravi Singh, mostly known as a wicketkeeper-batsman, is a newcomer to the Indian Premier League. He gets his first cap at a crucial moment when Rajasthan Royals are struggling to make the play-offs.
Ravi’s figures in T20 look quite promising. According to ESPN Cricinfo, ahead of the DC vs RR IPL 2026 match, the keeper-batsman has played 10 Twenty20 games to score a total of 295 runs with a batting average of 42.14 and a strike rate of 174.55. In List A and first-class cricket, his batting averages were 66.14 and 77.33 respectively.
