Why is Prince Yadav not playing today’s match against Zimbabwe?

Prince Yadav has been ruled out of the India vs Zimbabwe 3rd T20I, the last match of the ongoing series. Ahead of the match, through an official media release, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) revealed that the rising fast bowler, who made his T20I debut against Ireland in Belfast just a few weeks ago, is missing today’s match against Zimbabwe due to a hamstring issue.

“Prince Yadav is not available for selection in the third T20I due to a hamstring injury which he sustained while bowling in the second T20I against Zimbabwe,” BCCI said in an update shortly before the first over of the India vs Zimbabwe third T20I in Harare.

Prince Yadav got injured in India vs Zimbabwe second T20 match

Prince Yadav was among the in-form bowlers, taking several wickets in a short span of time after making his debut in the format. In the previous match, which was on Saturday, the emerging fast bowler suffered a hamstring injury during the second over of his spell. With obvious pain on his face, Prince walked off the field with the help of the physio.

When he was about to start the run-up for the third ball of his second over, he strained his hamstring and could not continue the run-up after that. However, he took two runs in just 1.2 overs to help India win the match and the series.
