India’s national cricket team all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy has suffered a serious injury, due to which he has been ruled out of today’s second ODI of the three-match series against the Afghanistan national cricket team.
The second ODI between the India national cricket team led by Shubman Gill and the Afghanistan national cricket team led by Hashmatullah Shahidi is currently going on at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.
Nitish Kumar Reddy is suffering from quad issue, Shubman Gill confirms
Young all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy, who is being seen as the successor to Hardik Pandya, has faced another injury problem. Captain Shubman Gill revealed that Nitish Kumar Reddy will not play the second match against the Afghans due to his quad issues.
“Three changes: Prince made his debut, Nitish had a problem with his quad, so he is out, and Kuldeep is in, Jaiswal is in,” said Shubman Gill at the time of the toss.
Meanwhile, BCCI in its update revealed that Reddy could not play due to pain in his left thigh.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said, “Shri Nitish Kumar Reddy was not available for selection for the second ODI due to left thigh pain. The BCCI medical team is monitoring his progress.”
