On Monday, July 13, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) confirmed that they and legendary head coach Stephen Fleming have decided to part ways by mutual consent, bringing an end to one of the most successful partnerships in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Stephen Fleming is considered one of the most successful coaches in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL) as he led Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to five IPL trophies and 2 Champions League Twenty20 titles.

Although Stephen Fleming has led CSK to a record 12 playoffs and 10 IPL finals, the team’s recent performances have not matched the standards set by the Yellow Army.

In the official media release, CSK said that this difficult decision was taken with respect and gratitude, after a series of open and honest discussions between both parties.
“The Super Kings and Stephen Fleming have mutually decided to part ways, ending one of the most successful and enduring partnerships in the history of the Indian Premier League.
“This decision was taken with respect and gratitude after an open and honest discussion between Fleming and the Super Kings management,” CSK said in an official statement.
