Former Indian captain Rohit Sharma had refused to take off his helmet even during the victory celebration and his century celebration to hide his baldness. He also borrowed a cap from his coaching staff before opening the helmet and immediately covering his bare head.
India’s veteran ODI batsman Rohit Sharma scored a brilliant century in the final ODI of India’s tour of Australia, ending an illustrious career against the mighty Australian team on their soil. Rohit has become the second Indian batsman after Sachin Tendulkar to score 2500+ runs against the Australian team.
Rohit was also given the Player of the Match award in the game. Of the last five matches that India has won in the 50-over format, two legends Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have been chosen Man of the Match in four of them.
Rohit Sharma hid his ‘baldness’ with helmet during victory celebration
As the great Indian opener looked flawless in Sydney and played a match-winning innings of 121* off 125 balls, he redefined the record and remained unbeaten throughout the chase. After Kohli completed the chase with a four, the Indian players lined up to shake hands with the Australian players.
Rohit Sharma can be seen wearing a helmet during this entire handshake incident. Although some of his teammates urged him to remove it, he borrowed a cap from a support staff member to cover his head before taking off the helmet.
Rohit was hiding his baldness, which is a very common problem among Indian men with increasing age. This has led to a flood of ridiculous comments on social media.

Rohit Sharma breaks SENA record by any visiting batsman
In his immaculate century at the Sydney Cricket Ground, Rohit Sharma hit three sixes in his innings as India’s consecutive six-hitter managed to break a major record in SENA countries, which was previously held by West Indies legend Chris Gayle.
Rohit completed his 60th half-century by hitting Adam Zampa for a six over cover with a brilliant inside-out shot. This is Rohit’s 93rd six on SENA soil, and with it, he overtook Chris Gayle’s previous record of most sixes by a visiting batsman in SENA countries in the 50-over format.
He is just three sixes away from equaling former Pakistani captain Shahid Afridi in terms of hitting most sixes in ODI cricket history. Afridi tops the list with 351 sixes, while Rohit has 348 sixes to his name, having played 120+ fewer matches than the former all-rounder.
Rohit Sharma joins the elite list of Indian cricketers
With many batting milestones for Rohit, he has also earned a new place in the list of cricketers with most catches in One Day Internationals for India. Rohit took a sharp catch to dismiss Mitchell Owen in the slips and then contributed in dismissing Nathan Ellis as well.
He joins the elite list of Indian cricketers like Virat Kohli, Mohammad Azharuddin, Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid and Suresh Raina have taken 100 catches in ODIs. Rohit’s average is now the highest against Australia by any cricketer in the history of the format.
