Why did BCCI give special permission to Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s parents to accompany him on the UK tour?

Vaibhav Suryavanshi has been named in the India national cricket squad for the Ireland and England T20I tours and the Asian Games 2026 respectively. The 15-year-old teenage sensation will be playing for the senior team after impressing in the Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 and also in Under-19 cricket.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the squad for the upcoming tours, in which Vaibhav Suryavanshi has been included in every team. This shows the talent he has produced at this age and he dominated some world-class bowlers in the recently concluded IPL. He has currently reached Sri Lanka on behalf of India A team for the tri-series.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s parents gave special permission

Amidst all this, the BCCI has given special permission to his parents to travel with him on the UK tour as they feel the presence of the family will help him adjust to the demands of international cricket and life away from home. The board also decided to bear all the expenses of Vaibhav’s parents.

The board leadership decided that having his parents around would be the best support system as he took his first steps into international cricket. “Since he is a child, we have decided to allow his parents to accompany him to Ireland and England so that they can stay with him and help him settle into the new environment. The board will bear all his expenses,” BCCI secretary Devjit Saikia told Sportstar.

Huge fireworks in Bihar on the selection of Suryavanshi

After being selected for the India national cricket team, celebrations started in his village, Samistipur, Bihar. Fireworks burst into the sky, sweets were distributed to residents and neighbours, and people gathered outside the family home to celebrate the event, which many saw as a historic event for both the state and Indian cricket.

Suryavanshi broke 36 years old record

Vaibhav Suryavanshi has already broken Sachin Tendulkar’s record as he became the youngest player to be selected for the Indian national team. In doing so, he overtook a record that had stood for 36 years and was previously held by some of the game’s greatest players.

The guy won the Orange Cap in this season of IPL by scoring 776 runs, and was also named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) after scoring 436.5 points in the season, who also ended up being the Player of the Tournament.

He won almost every award in this year’s IPL and broke many milestones while achieving it; From Virat Kohli to former cricketers, everyone has congratulated the young boy for his extraordinary performance. He also became the youngest cricketer to win the Orange Cap in the history of the competition.
