Mumbai Indians bowlers are wearing black bands in the IPL 2026 match against Sunrisers Hyderabad and the reason for this is really heart-wrenching.
Mumbai Indians could not show anything special in their last match against Chennai Super Kings on the same ground at Wankhede Stadium. However, they will be aiming to bounce back against Sunrisers Hyderabad, especially after making so many changes to the team.
Why are Mumbai Indians players wearing black armbands against SRH?
Mumbai Indians players will face Sunrisers Hyderabad in the eighth match of the season and that too at their home ground Wankhede Stadium. The Hardik Pandya-led team was seen wearing black armbands while coming out to bat.
They announced this by making a short announcement before the start of the match, where they claimed that they would be wearing black armbands in memory of the untimely demise of the daughter of one of the staff members.
““Due to the untimely demise of our support staff’s daughter, Mumbai Indians players will wear black armbands today in remembrance and solidarity with the family,” the note read.
