Yuvraj Singh personally gave coaching to Shubman Gill – Yograj Singh
Talking to Annie, Yogaj Singh credited his son Yuvraj Singh to advise Shubman Gill and help in batting. Yogaj also appreciated Gautam Gambhir for his coaching approach. He said that Indian players can get records with guidance.
“Yuvraj Singh personally coached Shubman Gill. Shubman Gill is a great player … someone should learn from Yuvraj Singh and Gautam Gambhir how to coach the players. If Bryan Lara can score 500 runs, why can’t we do?” Yograj said (through Sporting News).
Gill became the first Indian captain to score a dual century in Gill (South Africa, England, New Zealand and Australia). He joined Virat Kohli as only the other Indian captain, achieving a double hundred outside the subcontinent.
Gill scored 147 runs in the initial match of the series. However, India could not secure the victory despite its heroes with the bat. England successfully followed 371 runs in the final innings, taking a 1-0 lead in the series.
