Former India batsman Ambati Rayudu praised Ace Batter Virat Kohli, saying that he is a game-changer in Indian cricket. The cricketer-turn-commentator also said that Kohli has re-defined the game in the country by increasing fitness standards in the next 100 years.
Kohli has been a prominent player with constant success in all formats in modern Indian cricket. The right-handed batsman is in second place on India’s all-time run chart. It is worth noting that the 36 -year is the most successful captain of the national cricket team in Test cricket.

Speaking on a YouTube podcast with Shubhankar Mishra, Ambati Rayudu credited Virat Kohli to improve the team’s fitness standards. Rayudu said that many players were naturally fit first, but Kohli’s outlook took Indian cricket completely to a new level.

Rayudu said on the ‘unplugged’ podcast, “The kind of things he has done for Indian cricket, I don’t think anyone else has. And its value, many people do not realize.”
He said, “This is not just about his batting. Yes, bat, but is fitness. Earlier, the players were fit, naturally fit, many of them. But because of him, Indian cricket has reached another level,” he said.

Ambati Rayudu expressed disappointment over Virat Kohli’s decision to retire from tests. Former CSK and MI Batter said that Kohli soon retired, saying that he was still among the most qualified players and should have continued in the recent England series.
“In my opinion, they took it very quickly, 100 percent. They should have played this series (against England). They should have played a lot. Fitness-wise, I don’t think half the players are more fitter than them,” Rayudu said.
