Aakriti issued a public clarification after cryptic posts on her social media led to widespread speculation about their relationship, saying that the rumors were false and harmed Shaw’s public image.
Aggarwal and Shaw announced their engagement through a joint social media post on March 8, 2026. However, her recent post about betrayal led many users to believe that the couple has broken up. They have now confirmed that they are still engaged and urged people to stop spreading baseless claims.

Aakriti Aggarwal has rubbished rumors of her relationship with Prithvi Shaw after her recent Instagram stories went viral. Aggarwal clarified that she never mentioned Shaw or claimed that their engagement was over.
He shared a statement on Instagram, writing:
“Just want to clarify something. I never mentioned my fiancé’s name, nor did I say that we were engaged or that we had separated. It was unfortunate that many people assumed it was about him. We are happy together, still engaged, and doing absolutely fine.
It also made me realize how easy it is for a public figure’s image and reputation to be influenced by perceptions. A single post without any names or context can lead people to draw conclusions that are not true.
I never meant to post this story for clarification. But when my partner’s dignity became the subject of so many posts, I knew I couldn’t remain silent. In the public eye, people are constantly judged and interrogated based on speculation rather than facts.”
After tarnishing the image of her fiance Prithvi Shaw, Aakriti Aggarwal has clarified that she was misunderstood and everything is fine between her and Prithvi, they are happy together.

Cryptic posts give rise to rumors on social media
The speculation began after Agarwal shared a series of Instagram Stories about cheating and betrayal. Although she never took Shaw by name, many social media users linked the post to the India batsman and claimed that the couple has parted ways.
The rumors gained more attention when fans noticed that Agarwal briefly unfollowed Shaw on Instagram before following her back. However, neither of them confirmed the breakup and Aggarwal’s latest statement made it clear that her earlier posts were not directed at her fiancé.
Meanwhile, Shaw has had to face many controversies outside the field. In 2023, he was involved in a brawl with influencer Sapna Gill outside a hotel in Mumbai. He has also faced criticism regarding his fitness and discipline.
Prithvi Shaw wants to make a comeback on and off the field
Although the relationship rumors have now been addressed, Shaw continues to face challenges in his cricket career. After going unsold in the IPL 2025 auction, Delhi Capitals bought him back for ₹75 lakh in the quick round of the IPL 2026 auction.
