Former Indian head coach and broadcaster Ravi Shastri joked about the notorious jersey curse in the toss, as the inaugural test of the two-match test series was going on on Thursday, 2 October at the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Interestingly, Andy Picroft was the match referee for the first India-West Indies Test. Well, Jersey sponsors of the Indian cricket team have faced major failures in the last two decades.

As the captain of the Indian Test, Shubman Gill came to the toss in the brand-new jersey with Apollo tires as the chief sponsor, Ravi Shastri excavated a fickle on the so-called jersey curse. Shastri, who is known for her sharp intellect, could not oppose pointing on the string of bad luck, who faced previous sponsors.

Supporters have often disrupted sponsorship deals with BCCI, but now the former Indian captain hopes that Apollo tires will last long. Shastri said in the toss, “Hope this new jersey with Apollo tires will last a long, long.”
