Josh Hazlewood’s heroics derail India’s innings
Earlier in the evening, India’s batting lineup struggled to cope with a consistent Australian bowling attack after being asked to bat first. Josh Hazlewood Once again led the attack, wreaking havoc with his impeccable line and length. The right-arm fast bowler produced a masterclass in seam bowling and performed brilliantly by taking 3 wickets for just 13 runs in 4 overs.
India were bundled out for 125 in 18.4 overs, with Hazlewood demolishing the top order and giving the visitors no chance to build momentum. His accuracy led to many false strokes and constant pressure from the other end ensured that India could not recover.
Amidst the chaos, Abhishek Sharma played a brilliant inning of 68 runs in 37 balls with the help of 8 fours and 2 sixes. The young opening batsman played with positive intent, punished anything loose and showed composure while others struggled. His innings was the only ray of hope for India, helping them reach a somewhat respectable score despite the collapse all around them.
