Rahmat Shah suffered a serious calf injury and left the field in a wheelchair. Shah tried to take a quick single and immediately showed signs of discomfort in the 15th over. He showed signs of restlessness and was unable to walk properly. Shah retired hurt and was treated off the field.
When Afghanistan had lost nine wickets at 189 runs, Shah made a brave attempt to restart his innings. The crowd applauded when he limped back to bat, but his comeback lasted only one ball.
Rishad Hussain bowled a googly which hit his stomach and he fell due to pain. Bangladesh’s Mehdi Hasan Miraj and Afghanistan’s physio Nirmalan Thanabalasingam arrived to help Shah before he was taken off the field in a wheelchair.

Rahmat Shah likely to miss the 3rd ODI against Bangladesh in Abu Dhabi
Rahmat Shah will not be able to play in the final ODI against Bangladesh due to injury. Team physio Nirmalan Thanabalasingam confirmed that Shah will be scanned soon, but indicated that the setback is so severe that he could be kept out for some time.
“He (Rahamat) unfortunately succumbed to his injury, so he is out now. We will do all the right things tomorrow in terms of imaging and other things. He is going to be out for a while, I think,” Thanabalasingam said, according to Cricbuzz.
Rahmat recently became the first Afghan batsman to cross 4,000 ODI runs and scored a crucial half-century in the opening match of the series. His absence before the final match against Bangladesh is a big loss for Afghanistan.
