The UAE cricket team has roots in both India and Pakistan. Simranjit Singh, Rahul Chopra, Harshit Kaushik, Dhruv Parshar, and Alishan Shafu are of Indian origin.
On the other hand, the Pakistani-original party is also part of the team. Captains Muhammad Wasim, Hyder Ali, Junaid Siddiq, Muhammad Rohid, and Asif Khan are from Pakistan.
Pakistan-UAE match started an hour late due to handshake controversy
The conflict between Pakistan and the UAE began due to controversy over joining hands at the beginning of one hour. Junaid Siddiqu escaped through the top order, reeling 9–2 within three overs. Saim Ayub ended for its third consecutive duck.
Fakhar Zaman scored fifty runs off 36 balls and added a 61 -run partnership with skipper Salman Aga. However, the middle order collapsed again. Left-arm spinner Simranjit Singh (3-26) launched another slide, making Pakistan 110–7.
Shaheen Afridi scored 29 off 14 balls, with three fours and two sixes. Pakistan managed to post a total of 146–9 in 20 overs. With the ball, Afridi hit quickly and ended with 2–16.
Haris Rauf rejected Dhruv Parshar and finished the 48 -run stand with Rahul Chopra. UAE lost seven wickets for only 20 runs for 105. Abrar Ahmed (2–13) and Part-Timmer Sam Ayub won a significant victory in Pakistan.
We are not talking about Indo -Pak tension – UAE captain
UAE captain Muhammad Wasim said that his side is united by cricket, not divided by national origin. He described the squad as a family, stating that players from different backgrounds live and play together with an identity.
“No, we are not talking about that (Indo-Pak tension) because we play a lot of cricket together. We are like a family here. Any Indian and no Pakistani. We play for the UAE team. We play for the UAE team. We play as a family and live as a family,” Wasim said.
Team India captain Suryakumar Yadav refused to join hands with Salman Ali Aga in the toss. Blue men left the handshek even after the match. India closed the dressing room door after the match.
