Pakistan defeated Bangladesh by 11 runs on Thursday (25 September), booking a place in the ongoing Asia Cup 2025 final. In a low scoring match at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, men in Green defended 135 runs, which was to install a mouthwatering clash against India in title-wreath.
In Green, men came with another poor batting performance, but amended for it with a great bowling performance. Batting first, Pakistan could score only 135/8 in 20 overs allotted. They left for a poor start as Sahibzada Farhan and Sam Ayub went inside the first two overs.
Pakistan reaches Asia Cup final
Pakistan kept losing wickets at regular intervals and was reeling at 49/5 in the 11th over. Even the 100-run mark looked like a distant dream on a platform, but the significant contribution to the choice of Mohammad Haris (31), Shaheen Afridi (19), Mohammad Nawaz (25), and Faheem Ashraf (14*) directed him to a respectable 130-plus clan.

In response, Bangladesh completed its innings on 124/9. Like Pakistan, Bangladesh also lost wickets at regular intervals and did not actually look into a dispute to pursue the clan. Even before the end of the power play, he lost three wickets, including in-form Saif Hassan, and simply could not recover after the initial failures.
Shamim Hussain was the only Bangladesh batsman to score more than 30 runs, as he scored 30 runs. However, he received very little support from the other end as Bangladesh missed a great opportunity to qualify for the Asia Cup final for the first time since 2018.
The comedy of errors as a Bangladesh star avoids scaring run-outs
The super 4s confrontation between 2 Asian giants saw a bizarre moment when two batsmen ended at the same end, but survived the run-outs. The incident took place in the fifth over of Bangladesh’s innings when Shaheen Afridi was bowling for Hridoy.
On the first ball of the over, Afridi bowled one outside the off stump, and Hridoy barely cut it towards the backward point, where sim Ayub came with a great diving attempt to stop the ball.
Meanwhile, Saif Hasan estimated that the ball would easily go to Ayub and be closed for a single.
Before he could feel anything, he was standing near Hridoy at the end of the striker. Ayub quickly got up and thrown the ball at the end of the non-strayer, but there was no fielding. As a result, Hasan had the opportunity to safely return inside the crease.
