India, led by Shubman Gill, are taking on West Indies, captained by Roston Chase, in the second and final Test match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. The home team will be aiming to achieve a clean sweep after an innings win in the series opener at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad last week.
India captain Shubman Gill won the toss on Friday, 10 October. Gill won his first Test toss and elected to bat first on a dry pitch. The young batsman ended a six-match toss losing streak, which includes five toss defeats in the Anderson-Tendulkar 2025 series against England and the first Test against the West Indies.

In a video, Shubman Gill and his team were seen in blue jerseys shaking hands and interacting with the opposing team and umpires before the match. After Gill made his decision in the toss, head coach Gautam Gambhir was seen jokingly teasing him.
Gill continued to lead the unchanged Indian XI with an eye on a clean sweep. Openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul will have an ideal opportunity to take advantage of the early conditions before spinners like Ravindra Jadeja come into action later in the match.
