WATCH: Caoimhe Bray scores a brilliant hat-trick for Sydney Sixers against Sydney Thunder

With the help of a brilliant hat-trick from young star Caoimhe Bray, Sydney Sixers Women achieved a spectacular 24-run victory over Sydney Thunder Women in Match 11. WBBL|11 At Drummoyne Oval.

Sophia Dunkley and Alyssa Healy lead the Sixers’ batting effort

The Sixers, who came to bat first after Thunder won the toss, scored a steady score despite losing wickets at regular intervals.

Sophia Dunkley played the role of anchor by scoring 43 runs in 35 balls with the help of six fours and maintaining the pace. She got strong support from Alyssa Healy, who scored 26 runs in just 15 balls at a blistering strike rate of 173.33. Their 60-run partnership gave the Sixers a solid platform at 76/2.

However, the middle order faltered under the pressure of tight bowling. Captain Ashley Gardner was out for 10, while Erin Burns (6) and Maitlan Brown (8) could not convert their starts.

Helped by a late surge from Maddy Villiers, who remained unbeaten on 24 off 19 Sixers’ score ends with 142/9 – a total that later proved more than salvageable.

Shabnim Ismail (3/27) was the best of the Thunder’s bowlers, while Georgia Woll and Samantha Bates took two wickets each.
