“Was Ravindra Jadeja playing his first match?” All -rounder torn in Pakistan after Lord’s Test

Former Pakistan cricketer Basit Ali questioned Ravindra Jadeja’s batting view during the run chase in the third Test match between India and England at Lord’s. Ali also said that Jadeja could take inspiration from Javed Miandad’s strategy to target the boundaries in the last two balls of an over.

Ravindra Jadeja scored an unbeaten 61 off 181 balls after India came at 71/5 during the 193 chase of India. The team fell to 112/8 after the dismissal of Nitish Kumar Reddy, and Jadeja had expectations of fast coming.

Telinder Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Siraj survived a joint 84 balls. However, Jadeja continued with a defensive approach. India was eventually rejected for 170, lost the match by 22 runs and fell 1–2 in the five-match series.

“Jadeja could take some more opportunities. When Shoaib Bashir or Joe Root was bowling, he just left it. They were flying the ball, but Jadeja did not allege. He should have fallen down from the ground, at least slog sweeps had also missed. He had shown a little more courage, he said that he could take India for a victory.”
