Ajinkya Rahane has highlighted the performance of India’s T20 Eye Captain Suryakumar Yadav, which is at home against England in the previous series, where he was struggling to leave.

Overall, the former world number 1 batsman scored just 28 runs in five innings at a strike rate of 116.66. He faced heavy criticism after the flop show, but the batsman managed to silence his critics in the Indian Premier League (IPL) with his heroes in 2025.

Suryakumar Yadav’s next challenge is the Asia Cup 2025. He will lead India in the continental tournament and aim to capture his first mega title as a skipper.
Speaking on his official YouTube channel before the competition, the country’s batsman Ajinkya Rahane said that Suryakumar Yadav is a dangerous batsman, but there was doubt about his performance in the Asia Cup 2025. He explained: He explained:
“There was not a good series against England, but returned to the IPL with five fifties and ended as the second largest run-score in the tournament with a healthy strike rate. We all know that Surya is a dangerous batsman. In this format, he has really done well. But it will be interesting to see how he goes about his batting, especially after surgery.”

Suryakumar Yadav replaced Rohit Sharma as India T20I captain, as later declared his retirement from the format.
Since taking the top job, Suryakumar has done a great job as a captain and directed India to win 17 matches, with a win percentage of 77.27.
Meanwhile, Ajinkya Rahane further appreciated Suryakumar’s leadership, but urged him to step into the Asia Cup. He said:
“As a captain, he has been fantastic. He is an active captain, really led the team in the past, but I think, in this Asia Cup, his batting will be really important.”
