Former Indian cricketer-commentator Akash Chopra has recently recalled a conversation related to Jasprit Bumrah with Pakistan’s fast-bouling legend Waqar Younis on the workload management of Indian fast bowler on a recent tour of England.
Jasprit Bumrah recalled two of India’s five trials on a recent tour of England as part of the workload management process to save her after a serious bench injury during a tour of Australia earlier this year. Sandeep Patil questioned BCCI’s charge of Jaspreet Bumrah’s charge
Meanwhile, former India cricketer and pre-selector Sandeep Patil has criticized the BCCI’s approach for managing the charge of Jasprit Bumrah. He questioned the role of Team Physio, wondering if they are given a lot of impact on the decisions that should include captains, coaches and selectors.
Patil emphasized the importance of commitment while representing the country, remembering how legends like Sunil Gavaskar and Kapil Dev played through every difficult situation, and said that true players fight for their team and do not avoid challenges.
Patil said that previous legends never sought a brake, never complained, and their career was extended for 16-plus years. He also recalled how he played in Australia in 1981 after injuring his head in Australia.

‘Previous players played through pain without complaints’
Patil also mentioned that today’s cricketers have access to better facilities and medical care than the past. However, he believes that the players of earlier times were more prepared for the team to move forward through pain and difficulties.
The former Indian cricketer said that the players often played despite injuries as they focused on representing their country only without disturbing the past.
