India Performed effectively during the second T20I against zimbabwe On July 25, 2026 at Harare Sports Club. The Men in Blue registered a comprehensive 90-run win, and took an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match bilateral series. Despite clinical performances in all departments, India’s head coach VVS Laxman Gave a strong message to the team and urged the players to avoid complacency while preparing for the final match.

Addressing the team inside the dressing room after their spectacular win, head coach VVS Laxman stressed on the fine line between gaining confidence from success and falling into comfortable patterns. In a post-match address issued by Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI)Laxman reminded the youth unit that high standards must be maintained regardless of opposition.
“Another successful day, which means let’s not take comfort from the last game, but let’s take confidence from the last game, let’s not be complacent.” Laxman said.
Laxman praised the opening batsmen Vaibhav Suryavanshi And Abhishek Sharma To set an aggressive tone at the top. He also highlighted the middle overs defensive work Shreyas Iyer And Ishan KishanWho took over the innings after two quick wickets fell.
“That was a difficult moment after losing two quick wickets, where Shreyas and Ishan used their experience. There was a lot of calm in the middle.” Laxman said that standing at 95 runs without taking unnecessary risks till the 10th over demonstrated strong tactical maturity.
The coach also praised the explosive 94-run partnership between Ishan Kishan and Tilak Verma as well as Shivam Dubey’s late knock that took India past the 200-run barrier. Defensively, Laxman praised leg spinner Ravi Bishnoi for controlling the middle overs and debutant fast bowler Yash Thakur for maintaining composure under pressure, and pointed out that the team’s tireless effort in the field reflects the core culture being built within the setup.
India won the series against Zimbabwe in the second T-20 match.
India’s total score of 219/5 proved to be too heavy for the hosts. Zimbabwe’s chase never gained momentum as India’s bowling attack maintained a disciplined stance from the early overs.
The win secured the series for India with one game remaining. Armed with Laxman’s advice to keep the foot on the gas pedal, the Indian contingent has turned its attention to the third and final T20I at the same venue on Sunday, looking to clinch a 3-0 series win.
