Vivian Kingma conducted a positive test for doping in ICC World Cup League 2 phase
The Dutch Speedster Vivian Kingma has been suspended from cricket for the next three months, when he was found guilty of dissolving the ICC Anti-Doping Code. The 30 -year -old Pesar conducted a positive test for a cocaine metabolite benzolycagonin, which is often classified as an abusive drug under the ICC code.
The ICC tested the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 matches against the United Arab Emirates on 12 May 2025 after the ICC. After the test, the ICC confirmed that Kingma was booked under it.
Dutchman admitted the crime and accepted the ban imposed by the ICC on it. However, he has admitted that the consumption was outside the competition.
ICC takes strict action against a Dutchman to break anti-doping code
After finding the Pesar convict of the Netherlands, the ICC announced that the player would have to serve the disqualification of a period of three months. The allegation will be effective from 15 August 2025 and will extend for three months.
According to the rules, the records and subsequent matches from ODI against UAE on May 12 have been disqualified from ODI. The ICC has also said that their suspension can be reduced by one month when the ICC-approved treatment program is completed during this period.
Through this action, the ICC has given an obvious insight that the anti-doping code applies not only to performing drugs, but also to any kind of entertaining materials, which can be used to maintain discipline in the field.
Vivian Kingma faced a four -match ban in 2022
Vivian Kingma’s suspension in international cricket has come at a significant turn to the Netherlands, as he is ready for a compelling program in the international calendar. Kingma can be considered a regular name on the Dutch side as he has represented him in several ICC tournaments.
Dutchman, who has selected 40 ODIs and 24 T20I wickets, first faced a similar ban in 2022. The Dutch ODI series against Afghanistan in Qatar marked Kingma’s absence for four matches. He was banned after being found guilty of ball tampering in the third ODI.
