Sidhu’s recent “If God fulfills wish…” petition has gone viral, which is linked to Kohli’s frequent meetings with his spiritual guide Premanand Ji Maharaj.
Timeline: Kohli’s ashram visit
Virat Kohli and his wife Anushka Sharma have recently visited Vrindavan several times to seek blessings from spiritual leader Premanand Ji Maharaj at Sri Hit Radha Kelly Kunj Ashram. He made these trips in January, May and December this year.

Navjot Singh Sidhu has openly said that if he ever gets divine wish, he will ask Kohli to return to Test cricket. The renowned commentator praised Kohli’s fitness and said seeing him back in white will bring immense joy to millions of fans across the country.
Sharing a clip of Kohli’s memorable performances and moments on Instagram, Sidhu wrote, “If God grants my wish, I would say bring Kohli out of retirement and make him play Test cricket… Nothing would bring more joy and ecstasy than this for a country of 1.5 billion! His fitness is that of a 20-year-old – he himself is worth 24 carat gold.”
He also tagged Kohli and the Indian cricket team in his post.
When Kohli dropped the bomb
Kohli announced his sudden retirement from Test cricket after his poor campaign in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia. Kohli made a great start to the BGT series with a brilliant century in Perth, but after that things went from bad to worse.
He kept falling into the same trap again and again while chasing balls outside the off stump in the fourth stump channel. The moving ball troubled him during the five-match Test series in Australia and his struggles became difficult to ignore; Ultimately, he bid farewell to his illustrious Test career in May 2025.

This brilliant form has reopened old emotions and expectations, especially among those who believe he still has a lot left to offer in Test cricket. There were also talks that BCCI is asking the former Indian captain to come back from Test retirement.
Despite the growing noise and emotional appeals, Kohli has already made his stand clear that he has no plans to change his decision. After winning the Player of the Match award against South Africa in Ranchi, Kohli insisted that Test cricket is behind him and he will continue to focus only on ODIs.
