Virat Kohli is ready to return to India’s ODI team
Virat Kohli is all set to return to the Indian ODI team for the first time after playing a key role in the 2025 Champions Trophy. The veteran batsman last represented India in that title-winning campaign, which was the country’s first ICC ODI trophy since the 2013 win in England.
During the 2025 Champions Trophy, Kohli finished as India’s second-highest run-scorer with 218 runs in five innings at an impressive average of 54.50. The right-handed batsman now plays only 50-over matches in international cricket after retiring from T20Is and Tests.
Kohli’s ODI future had become a subject of intense debate ahead of team selection for the upcoming Australia tour. Ajit Agarkar confirmed that Kohli and Rohit Sharma are not in the plans for the 2027 ODI World Cup.
