The Indian national cricket team is going through a tough phase at the moment, but a funny incident from inside the dressing room is now winning hearts on social media. A viral video of Virat Kohli, head coach Gautam Gambhir and Ishan Kishan went viral on social media platforms.
When everyone was talking about India’s poor performance, Kohli’s playful behavior brought a smile to everyone’s face. They suffered a 2-1 ODI series defeat to England with a 27-run defeat in the fifth and final match at Lord’s. Earlier, they had also lost the T20 series to England by 0-4. Meanwhile, Yuvraj Singh urged Team India to end the uncertainty over the future of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma at the World Cup 2027.
Virat Kohli makes fans laugh with funny gestures during Gautam Gambhir-Ishan Kishan’s intense conversation
In the viral video, Gautam Gambhir and Ishan Kishan can be seen sitting together in the dressing room and having a serious conversation during the third and final ODI at Lord’s. During the discussion, both the coach and the players looked completely concentrated, because the match was slipping away from India’s hands.
Virat Kohli was right behind him, but instead of joining the discussion, he started making funny faces and making playful gestures with his hands. They entertained themselves quietly while Gambhir and Ishaan remained completely focused on their conversation. However, both of them did not react to Kohli’s actions.
The former Indian captain’s expressions and body language made the moment even more special and fans loved his natural humour. His funny antics became the biggest attraction of the clip.

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli made another historic partnership
Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli once again proved why they are one of the greatest batting pairs in cricket history. Both the Indian superstars achieved another major feat during the third and final ODI against England at Lord’s on Sunday, July 19.
Even though India could not win the match, Rohit and Kohli added 113 runs in 86 balls for the second wicket at Lord’s. Their brilliant stand helped them rise to second place on the list of over 100 partnerships in ODI history, surpassing one of Sri Lanka’s greatest batting pairs. Earlier, Rohit Sharma and Gautam Gambhir’s animated balcony exchange after their Lord’s century had gone viral.
With this stand, Rohit and Kohli completed their 21st century partnership in One Day International. He has left behind Sri Lankan legends Kumar Sangakkara and Tillakaratne Dilshan, who together had made partnerships of more than 20 centuries. He is now behind only Indian greats Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly, who have 26 century partnerships to their name.
More achievements for Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma
This achievement became even more special because Lord’s ODI was the 400th international match that Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli played together. They became the first Indian pair to share the field in 400 international matches.
While Kohli scored a brilliant 74 runs, Rohit stole the show by playing a brilliant inning of 138 runs. The experienced opener played fearless cricket and forced India to chase the target, but the team ultimately fell 27 runs short of the target. Rohit’s century also brought many personal records.
Rohit became the first Indian batsman to score an ODI century at the historic Lord’s Cricket Ground. At the age of 39 years and 80 days, he became the oldest Indian player to score an ODI century and the oldest Indian to score an international century in any format.
Virat Kohli reached another impressive feat during the final ODI. The former India captain now has 87 century partnerships in ODI cricket, making him the second most successful batsman in terms of involvement in more than 100 partnerships. Rohit is also part of this distinguished list with 73 century partnerships, while Sachin Tendulkar continues to top the charts with 99.
