Fortune India has published the names of the most valuable Indian celebrities based on their personal brand values. The list they have published includes celebrities from various fields including cricket. Needless to say, Virat Kohli is also in this list. In fact, he tops the list as India’s most valuable celebrity.
In the list of top 10 most valuable celebrities in the country, there are three names from Indian cricket, and the rest are from the silver screen.
Virat Kohli tops as most valuable Indian celebrity
The survey conducted by Fortune India was based not only on the stars’ financial wealth, box-office collections or endorsements, but also on their uniqueness, coherence, engagement, trust, affinity and responsibility.
According to the report published on June 8, “This study is the result of a detailed methodology that goes far beyond just celebrities’ earnings or box-office selections, and also discusses the many other factors that together determine a celebrity’s ultimate brand value.”
“In addition to financial performance, the methodology goes deeper into the various aspects that determine brand strength – distinctiveness, coherence, engagement, trust, affinity and responsibility. By treating individual brands as managed economic assets, the methodology provides deeper insights beyond simple follower numbers,” it added.
The study found that Indian batsman Virat Kohli is the most valuable celebrity in India with a brand value of ₹3,542 crore, while Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is second in the list with a brand value of ₹3,017 crore.
The report said about Virat Kohli, “Cricket superstar Virat Kohli’s brand value has been pegged at a staggering ₹3,542 crore in the first Fortune India-Interbrand Most Valuable Celebrities list as he tops the list of the country’s 25 most valuable celebrities.”
Two more cricket legends are also included in this list.
There is another Indian cricket legend in the top half of the list of 10 names. MS Dhoni is at the fourth position with a reputed brand value of ₹2,141 crore. The legendary keeper-batsman, and one of the most successful captains in Indian cricket history, who officially retired from international cricket on August 15, 2020, concluding an illustrious 16-year career, remains one of the leading faces in the country.
He is now 44 years old, but even after so many years of retiring from international cricket, his fan following is still unmatched.
The third and last name in the list of 10 celebrities representing Indian cricket is that of Sachin Tendulkar. Sachin is at number 8th With a reputed brand value of ₹1,676 crore, Alia Bhatt and Diljit are ahead of Allu Arjun.
