India’s batting superstar Virat Kohli has returned to Delhi to join the national team ahead of the upcoming white-ball tour of Australia. Virat Kohli returned to India after four months and was seen at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport on Tuesday (October 14) morning.
Kohli had spent the last four months in London with his family after helping Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) clinch their maiden IPL 2025 title in June.
Virat Kohli has returned to Delhi to join the Indian team before the Australia tour.
Now, the former Indian captain is set to return to national duty after being named in India’s ODI squad for the Australia tour. Apart from Kohli, Rohit Sharma has been named in the ODI squad for the upcoming series in Australia.

The upcoming three-match ODI series between India and Australia will mark the return of Rohit and Kohli to international cricket after their ICC Champions Trophy 2025 triumph earlier this year.
Both the Indian batsmen have retired from Test and T20I cricket and now their focus is completely on ODI cricket. The return of Kohli and Rohit comes at an important stage of their careers, amid ongoing discussions over their future in the Indian cricket team.
Kohli seen in Delhi, staying away from selfies and paparazzi
Meanwhile, the Indian ODI team is scheduled to leave for Australia in two batches on October 15, depending on the availability of business-class tickets.
While the players traveling to Australia will remain in Delhi after the conclusion of the two-match Test series against West Indies on Tuesday, the rest of the players selected for the ODI series have been asked to join the squad in the national capital.
Meanwhile, Kohli has already reached Delhi to join the Indian team. In several viral videos and pictures, the flamboyant right-handed batsman was seen walking towards a black car in a black casual shirt with cream colored trousers.
Surprisingly, Kohli refused to pose for the paparazzi and quietly went inside the car. The former Indian captain also ignored selfies with fans and media.

Well, Virat Kohli has always enjoyed batting in Australia, he likes the bounce of the pitches, the opportunity to play aggressive shots and the challenges of the current conditions.
In his ODI career in Australia since 2012, he has played 29 matches, scoring 1,327 runs at an average of 51.03, including five centuries. However, Virat has a total of 2451 runs in the 50 ODI matches played so far in Australia.

However, reports suggest that Kohli’s place in the Indian ODI team could be in danger if he does not perform well in the upcoming series against Australia, as the selectors have decided that future selection will be based solely on current form and performance.
Even though Kohli is widely regarded as one of India’s greatest ODI batsmen, he will be approaching 40 by the ICC World Cup 2027, which will pose many challenges for him. However, Indian captain Shubman Gill and coach Gautam Gambhir supported the skill and experience of Rohit and Kohli.
While Gill has publicly stated that the Men in Blue will need both captains in the ICC World Cup 2027, Gambhir and chief selector Ajit Agarkar have refused to commit to anything, at least for now.
